Allen D. McCravy, MAI
Principal/Owner
Allen is the Principal/Owner of Stone & Associates and has worked as a real estate appraiser and consultant with Stone & Associates since February of 1999. He was awarded the MAI designation in March of 2010. Allen is a 1997 graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Allen has been a member of the local chapter (SC) of the Appraisal Institute since 1999. Leadership involvement with the Appraisal Institute includes Associate Committee Chair, Chair of the Education Committee, as well as President of the SC Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Greer, SC Chamber of Commerce and leadership positions in his local church. Allen is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. Allen has also been involved in development projects, rental properties, consulting, and site selection.
Appraisal experience consists of various types of income-producing properties, including office buildings, mixed–use properties, industrial properties, apartments, and retail properties. He has extensive experience with eminent domain assignments and valuation of conservation easements. Additional expertise includes various going concern valuations. Allen is qualified as an expert witness in Circuit Court, Family Court, and Master in Equity Court.
Tara V. C. Setzler, MAI
Tara joined Stone & Associates in 2007 after working as a commercial appraiser for two years in Anderson, South Carolina. She graduated from Erskine College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2004. In December 2010, she received her MBA with a concentration in Finance from Winthrop University. She was awarded the MAI designation in November of 2015. Tara is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in South Carolina.
Her appraisal portfolio includes the valuation of various property types, including but not limited to apartment complexes, industrial facilities, special purpose properties, self-storage facilities, agricultural related properties, retail buildings, churches, office buildings, and vacant land. Other experience includes conservation easements and appraisals adhering to the Uniform Standards of Federal Land Acquisitions (Yellow Book).
Sarah G. Guthrie, MAI
Her appraisal portfolio includes the valuation of various property types, including but not limited to numerous multi-family properties, shopping centers and motel/hotel operations. Her work also includes extensive eminent domain experience, retail properties, convenience stores, medical offices, and unimproved land.
Stephen C. Anderson
Appraisal experience consists of various types of income-producing properties, including office buildings, mixed–use properties, industrial properties, apartments, shopping centers, and extensive experience with various lodging operations. Other specific properties include convenience stores, converted residences, restaurants, residential subdivisions, residential properties and special purpose properties.
Janet Melissa Deyoung
Her appraisal experience consists of various types of income-producing properties, including office buildings, industrial properties, retail establishments, multi-family complexes, and restaurants, as well as contaminated properties, churches, day care centers, single-family residences, condominiums/townhomes, residential and office subdivisions, and unimproved land. With many years of appraisal experience, Melissa now specializes in residential subdivision development analysis.
Tresco E. Shannon, Jr.
Tresco joined Stone & Associates in 2018 after three years working with a residential appraisal firm in Anderson, SC. Tresco graduated from University of South Carolina Upstate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2015. Tresco is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser licensed in the State of South Carolina, as well as a Certified Residential Appraiser in the State of South Carolina.
Appraisal experience consists of various types of residential as well as commercial properties. Some examples include retail, industrial, office, and unimproved land tracts. Other experience includes multi-family properties.
Joseph D. Cope
Appraisal experience consists of various types of properties including retail, industrial, office, and unimproved land tracts. Other experience includes various self-storage facilities and mobile home park developments.

Charles B. Stone, MAI
Chuck was appointed by the Governor of South Carolina to serve as a member of the S.C. Real Estate Appraisers Board, served in different capacities as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary from 1998 – 2008.
Chuck’s appraisal experience consists of various types of income-producing properties, including office buildings, mixed-use properties, industrial properties, apartments, and retail properties.
